It has been a season of change for us at the gym. We have gone through some pretty deep soul searching as of late and come to some harsh conclusions. Attempts to subsidize our increased costs of equipment, space and a handful of projects have been unsuccessful. There are probably a lot of reasons why, but in the end it doesn't matter.
What does matter is finding the reasons we started training in the first place and rekindling the passion for our own progress that we once had. Three years ago we were ravenous about training. We went through painfully early morning, injuries, months of slow progress, and consuming material from lifters who were doing what we wanted to do. In the end, we got too involved in projects that weren't directly involved with making us elite lifters. No use crying about it though. It's time to return to ourselves and our own gym. We are committing ourselves to our original goals of making ourselves elite lifters as well as growing a team of elite lifters to compete all over the nation and beyond.
Our website format has changed as well. We aren't going to keep lists of meets going on in the state anymore, nor are we going to do any promotional stuff for the time being. Eventually we may return to bringing quality powerlifting meets to the state of Kentucky, but our focus is to become relentless in our efforts to reach elite status. There will be some interesting stuff about what's happening in the gym posted on here and that's about it. The forums won't change much as they have been a great source of learning for everyone.
Flatline Powerlifting is looking for those athletes who are committed to becoming elite powerlifters. We aren't concerned with what you are lifting right now, what matters is where you want to be. If you think you have what it takes then give us a call for an interview.
