Post Yoke squat
I'm down with a 6pm cause I may actually have to go to work for a few hours that morning...If it is on the 9th.

About that yoke squat...I saw your reply in Sarge's profile about it being like a 17" box squat...is that going to be across the board or is the lifter's height going to be taken into consideration? That is well below parallel for me. That would be like coming out of a black hole

Post Re: Yoke squat
Chad, I have asked all the people that i respect in the sport your question, hence why i have waited to reply.

I am afraid you will not like my answer but the reality in strongman is that some events favor certain body types. with this said the yoke height will be predetermined. somewhere in the 17-18 inch box squat range. the fact that atlas platforms and dead lifting are not altered for height are some other examples where height can be a factor.

let me know if this helps with your training. Also i think you had mentioned something about Oct. 9th for the contest but the actual date has been set for oct. 2nd. I still hope you can make it.

October 2nd is great! I kind of figured that about the yoke squat...I guess I better start getting deep!

Thanks for the info!

Post Re: Yoke squat
we are testing the yoke bar height right now and should have a final decision soon. it should be reasonable, we don't intend on guys getting glued to the floor, LOL. one thing to remember is foot placement. you can use the width of the yoke to maybe get more depth then you would a normal squat and that may help.
