 trade or not trade
i've been talking with a guy who used to do powerlifitng. he has a leviathan squat suit, metal pro bench, metal deadlifter, and metal briefs and we are talking about trading all of his gear for a 400 and 430 lb stone. the gear is used but according to him in good shape. he says 275 to 308 is the range on size. I'm 295 right now. He did mention the leviathan is made for 308 and may need to have it taken in some. Any thoughts on the realiablity of doing that?
Anyways, is this a good deal or not? Based on brand new prices I think so. The inzer squat suit is like 300 bucks new by itself. Just wanted to get the opinion from you guys who are more experienced and know if used is worth getting as apposed to new.

Sounds like solid gear, I have a metal pro bencher and love it, never heard anything bad about a leviathon either. I think you should trade for the gear and do the GSB meet, your lifts are strong, and it would be fun!

 Re: trade or not trade
i plan on doing the contest in march. i'm just undecided on using gear or not. right now i'm happy with how my raw numbers are coming and i don't have enough experience in gear to really go do much. just need to get over to GSB and get some rules down on each lift. Probably won't make it over until the first of the year but i'll be coming over.

 Re: trade or not trade
Hey Davey, I think the deal sounds solid especially for you. I wont speak to the other equipment but I use a Leviathan, and I would ask if you could try it on first. It is not as forgiving as a poly suit in that it wont fit a wide range of people even in the same class. For example, Im 6'0 and weighed around 275 when I got my suit, I have a longer torso with shorter legs, and Jake 5'10" and 275 at the time tried my suit on and we had to stop before he even had it up he was cramping so bad. I think it may be to your advantage that it runs a little big because mine is a shade loose going on, but it gets super tight in the hole, and I know, and the guys would agree if it were any tighter we'd almost have to cut it off.
I used Metal briefs, and all the other guys at GSB do now, but Jake and I ordered Inzer Predators at the same time and I really love mine, I talked with a guy for a while before I ordered mine and my briefs are a shade loose because the Leviathan gets so tight... I think both have a lot to offer, it just comes down to preference. Good luck and I cant wait to train with you!
